Ashley Smith
Bio:
Ashley is a clinician scientist, recognized as a Clinical Specialist in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Ashley completed his fellowship in manual therapy in 2002 and his PhD in 2015 where he investigated the association between nociception and the clinical manifestations of whiplash, particularly those involving central sensitization. After completing further postdoctoral studies in Australia, he returned to Calgary to continue his research. His research focusses on health outcomes in people with chronic whiplash symptoms. Ashley also investigates the role of orthobiologics (such as platelet-rich plasma) and health outcomes. Ashley continues to provide consultations for people with injuries sustained in motor vehicle collisions – to direct the right patients to the right treatment at the right time. Follow the evidence is the mantra here. Ashley loves working with the multidisciplinary team at Vivo Cura Health team to provide a multitude of treatment options to assist those in their recovery journey.
