Bio:
As a physical therapist with Qi Creative, Trent combines his ability to think outside the box, creativity and ingenuity with his passion for active living, sports and recreation to provide opportunities for children of all abilities to enjoy being a kid and experience movement, play, and recreation.
Trent graduated from the University of Alberta with his Masters degree in Physical Therapy, and has dedicated his career to helping children of all abilities experience the joy of movement and play. Through meaningful collaboration with families, Trent believes that all barriers can be overcome and that all children can enjoy recreation, sports, and movement.
Trent has worked exclusive in Paediatrics since 2010 and is experienced with supporting families and kids on their journey facing conditions such as; Cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Spina Bifida, and others. He brings extensive knowledge about home modifications, adaptations and mobility equipment (walkers, wheelchairs, and orthotics, among others) to break down environmental barriers, and uses a functional rehabilitation approach to support kids gross motor development.
Trent uses a strengths based approach to help families have fun together while being active. He is a strong believer in community recreation and providing opportunities for all kids to be active and have fun
He has worked extensively in programs for kids with special needs, including swimming, biking, skiing, rock climbing, and skating programs, and created Qi Capoeira (martial arts, music and dance for kids of all abilities). Trent enjoys Capoeira, rock climbing, camping, hiking, woodworking, and walking his dogs.
