Mary Lynne Jones
Bio:
Mary Lynne Jones has been practicing Physiotherapy since 1987 and established Midnapore Physical Therapy and Massage in Calgary in 1992. Having taken a multitude of post graduate training courses, combined with her vast experience, Mary Lynne evaluates the whole body to determine the root causes of many conditions.
Health promotion and the use of powerful tools about posture, sleep positions, work station set up, engagement of the core, and strategies to prevent re-injury are incorporated into treatments that impact joints, muscles and the nervous system.
Mary Lynne’s physiotherapy practice includes treatment of babies to seniors for daily functional improvement, sports injuries, chronic pain, motor vehicle accidents, post-surgical recovery, headaches, sciatica, neck and back pain, neurological conditions, concussions and posture problems including scoliosis. Physiotherapy treatment is also offered for sprains or pain of the hip, knee, foot, shoulder, elbow and hand.
Mary Lynne’s treatments include individualized “hands on” care using a combination of her well trained skills in orthopedic “mechanical” techniques, CranioSacral Therapy (fascia release), Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization or Developmental Kinesiology (DNS) and rehabilitation techniques. Her goal with physiotherapy is to help people make practical changes to their lifestyle and everyday tasks, so pain and dysfunction can be eliminated.
Clients prefer the type of physiotherapy treatment that Mary Lynne offers because of her unique skill combination and because she spends the time one on one with clients that they need. Even long term problems or chronic pain situations improve with Mary Lynne’s blend of knowledge and skills. Teaching clients how to self manage and treat themselves is a part of her focus as this helps get quicker results which are longer lasting.
Areas of interest include pediatric development, sensory integration, brain plasticity (growth) for children to seniors and for concussion and neurological recovery.
A full history and evaluation is performed and an individualized treatment plan is formulated outlining how to get you back to feeling your best.
Mary Lynne enjoys staying active with Dragon Boating, Hiking, and spending time with her four children and husband.
