Heather Enns
Bio:
BScPT, Acupuncture, Certified Gunn IMS Practitioner, Pelvic Health Physiotherapist, FCAMPT
Heather obtained her Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy with distinction from the University of Alberta in 2000. She is certified in Anatomical Acupuncture (2001), Gunn IMS Dry Needling (UBC, 2017) and Pelvic Health Physiotherapy (2008). She has done extensive post graduate training in manual therapy and in 2016 she received her Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT).
Heather has a passion to help women with peri-natal and pelvic girdle dysfunction, incontinence, back, neck and tailbone pain, as well as the treatment and prevention of sports injuries through technique analysis and sport specific rehabilitation. She completed the ConnectTherapy™ series (with Dr. LJ Lee) in 2018. This approach identifies the underlying causes of movement impairments, which ultimately helps speed up recovery and create long-lasting change. Heather also has training in Visceral Manipulation (Barral Institute) which is a helpful technique for people with abdominal scar tissue and for women after caesarean section. She has accreditation to teach Hypopressive Low Pressure Fitness™.
Heather’s interest in global health took her to Zambia and Tanzania where she volunteered in rural and urban hospitals in clinical and academic settings, as well as with an internationally competitive swim squad.
