Alberta Association of Physiotherapy

Jeff Habberfield

Bio:

Jeff graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2005, followed by a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta in 2008. He completed his Diploma in Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy and GunnIMS (dry needling) in 2012, and Vestibular training from Emory University in Atlanta in 2014. He completed his Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy in 2021, with a research focus on chronic whiplash.

His favorite part of being a physio is trying to diagnose the underlying cause of the problem. This allows for treatment to be directed properly, which may include referral to other specialists or for further investigations.  He enjoys working with people to understand what outcome is important to them, and how they would like to get there. Treatment typically involves a home program to help people manage their own condition, rather than having to constantly attend treatment.
