Lauren Hartmetz

Bio:

Lauren graduated from the University of Alberta with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. Prior to that, she completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Distinction, also at the University of Alberta.

Following graduation, Lauren has completed continuing education courses in manual therapy, acupuncture, trigger point dry needling, and concussion management. She has completed the Orthopaedic Division’s Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Program Level 5 and is able to perform some spinal manipulations. She hopes to complete the exams to become an FCAMPT in Fall 2024, which will allow her to perform more spinal manipulations. Lauren is also interested in furthering her education in assessing and treating temporomandibular joint dysfunctions.

Lauren believes in treating her patients through a combination of manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and education. She takes a patient-centered approach to care and encourages her patients to actively participate in their road to recovery.

Lauren grew up in a small town and has always enjoyed living a healthy, active lifestyle. She played many sports before moving to the city for university, but she particularly loves winter sports such as ice hockey and snowboarding. Lauren also enjoys walking, reading, baking, and most importantly, spending time with her husband and daughter!
